Not far from the west end of the
school, lies the yellow Monkey Bars, the vessel Hale and VonBehren and Patrick,
and sometimes Larry-Lloyd Baker surmount daily during lunch to momentarily
avoid the incessant verbal rants flowing derogatorily from the pernicious lips
of their celebrated peers. Both Patrick and Hale anticipate these terse
escapades in gaming like Buster anticipates lunch and Verdi. Unlike Tim’s
campaign, where Tim controls the narration, the setting as well as enjoys a
personal victory himself at the end of the day; demeaning his friends by
showing how feeble their attributes are; Von Behren’s game consists merely of
plot-circumstances transpiring around both Patrick’s and Hale’s characters
actions.
It is, simply put, the highlight of
a day sopped in the flames of hell.
